Golf is played, for the most part, without supervision of a referee or tournament official. The game relies on the integrity of the individual to show consideration for other players and to abide by the Rules of Golf, as maintained by the USGA. All players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, always demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship, irrespective of how competitive they may be. This is the spirit of the game of golf.
Any action contrary to the spirit of the game such as abusive language that is directed towards another member, throwing of clubs, cheating, or other disruptive behavior, will not be tolerated and, after being fully investigating the incident, depending on the severity of the breach, may result in a written warning, disqualification from event(s), and suspension from the club, or a combination of these, at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors (hereinafter the Board). Upon review and consideration of a contrary action the Board will send notification by e-mail within ten (10) days of the incident to the member informing him of its decision regarding the violation.
If a player commits a very serious breach of conduct, such as, but not limited to, intentionally cheating, deceiving, or altering his scorecard, the player will be suspended from the club indefinitely until he meets with the Board. If the Board denies the player’s appeal, the minimum suspension is three years. The Board has the right to lengthen the term of suspension based on the severity of the violation.
In the case of an extreme violation of the Code of Conduct a player may be permanently expelled from the club. This determination is at the sole discretion of the Board.
A player may appeal any suspension or expulsion at a hearing with the Board upon written request to the Board. The Board shall notify all parties involved of the time and place of the hearing by e-mail not less than ten (10) days prior to such hearing. The decision of the Board shall be final.

After this time, it is assumed the member no longer wishes to participate and is then dropped from the CHMGA. These dues support the administration of the club, and the majority is returned to the membership at our various events each year.
This includes NCGA yearly dues. Renewals that are not received before April 30th of the eligible year will be subject to a $10 NCGA late fee; to renew after that date, the member must pay the total amount of $200.00 to $210.00. Depending on if the individual is renewed or joining as a new member.
Junior Members
Family Members in High School of Club Members are eligible to join CHMGA barring they carry an 18 index or lower. Please contact the club treasurer for current year’s club dues.
Note: NCGA bills for each club that you join. CHMGA must pay regardless of other memberships.
All CHMGA members have Hole-In-One Insurance which is included in the membership dues. The Hole-In-One must be made during CHMGA sanctioned events. The member must be playing with another CHMGA member. When the Hole-In-One is made, the member may buy drinks for the field after the tournament against a voucher / tab in the club bar. The lucky member will be able to “put it on the tab” for up to $125.00. This coverage will also apply to other golf courses during an official CHMGA Away Tournament.
Present the receipt to the club treasurer for reimbursement.
It is the responsibility of the board to ensure that all members have an equal and fair venue on which to play tournament golf. It is also the boards responsibility to ensure that members enjoy the round in which they are playing.
To that end, the one subject that the board hears from members is of slow play.
While we are all different types of player, the one thing that just about all golfers can agree on is the monotony of having to wait on each shot, and It makes it difficult to get into a rhythm.
Some of the USGA rules of golf address some of these concerns,
Rule 5.6 will encourage prompt pace of play by recommending that:
Players should recognize that their pace of play affects others and they should play promptly throughout the round (such as by preparing in advance for each stroke and moving promptly between strokes and in going to the next tee)
A player should make a stroke in no more than 40 seconds (and usually in less time) after the player is able to play without interference or distraction, and
In addition, new Rule 6.4 will expressly allow playing out of turn in match play by agreement, and for stroke play, will affirmatively allow and encourage players to play out of turn in a safe and responsible way to save time or for convenience (also known as “ready golf”).
Under Rule 18.2, the time for a ball search (before the ball becomes lost) will be reduced from 5 minutes to 3 minutes.
Reasoning
Limiting the search period to 3 minutes is more consistent with the underlying principle that golf is to be played in a prompt and continuous way, without long pauses in play. In most cases, if the ball is going to be found, it will be found within the first 3 minutes.
Other observation noted by members that would help speed up play include;
If walking over to your ball, that is on the other side of the fairway from you cart partner, instead of waiting for your playing partner to hit his shot and bring the cart over to you. Take clubs with you and be ready to play when it is your play.
Or when on the putting green, if you like to look at your put from all angles, don’t wait until it’s your play to do so. Do so before it’s your play. Obviously being cognizant to when a player is ready to play.
